StanChart introduces Digital Cards via its mobile app

1 Mins read

Standard Chartered Bank through its SC Mobile app has introduced digital cards for its customers to make e-commerce transactions amid the COVID-19 crisis.

In response to growing consumer demand for online transactions due to the coronavirus pandemic, more than ever, we have seen the need for digital payment methods. Many online shopping and delivery platforms providing COVID-19 relief services as we all maintain social distancing are all encouraging cashless payments.

Standard Chartered Bank Uganda has now introduced digital cards in the latest (Version 5.5.0) of its mobile banking app to enable users to make instant payments 24/7.

A digital card is simply a virtual version of your card, but instantly available anytime you need it in the SC Mobile app. You can use it just like your physical card to shop online, pay bills, make in-app purchases and set up your recurring card payments, or even add it to your mobile or wallet apps to shop.

However, if you’re using the digital card, you will need to ensure that you keep any device on which the card is stored and security details for the device safe and not allow anyone else to use them. If your device stores a fingerprint, you should not store anyone else’s fingerprint on your device. If you dispose of or misplace a device that has your digital card held on it, you must delete the card first or contact customer care.

To get started with the digital cards, simply update your app now.
